Shiela Braunstein founded TBR in 1983. Her 30 years of experience and knowledge in the Manhattan residential real estate market puts her in the elite of real estate professionals in Manhattan.

Shiela is a native and life-long New Yorker. Born in Coney Island, Shiela left Brooklyn after college and moved to Manhattan where she worked in the fashion industry for several years, ultimately running the New York showroom for a major junior sportswear company. Her marriage to her husband Mort, a prominent real estate attorney (named one of the top real estate attorneys in the city by Avenue Magazine) and subsequent birth of her son led her to leave the fashion world in search of something which would allow her to spend more time at home.

After watching and enjoying the experience of her husband selling an apartment for one of his clients, which happened to be in the building they lived in, Shiela realized she had a newfound passion and wanted to be in the real estate business. Looking after her son during the day, going to class at nights and learning both from the textbooks and her husband, Shiela got her license in 1982 and started her own business in 1983.

Twenty nine years later TBR is still going strong and has developed into one of the city’s leading boutique real estate firms.
